The Introduction to The Book of Mormon teaches us many things, such as that Jesus is the Messiah and will come again. Joseph Smith also tells us that we can get more like and closer to God by following what it says ‘than by any other book.’ It says gives a very rough history of the people it tells about, but it does not give very much information, so I want to read more. The page also contains a rough history about how the record came to be, but, once again, I want to learn more. There is a lot of information on that page!
Whenever I read what Joseph Smith said, that we can get closer to God through the Book of Mormon than through any other book, I wonder why I don’t always make the time to read it. That sounds like the purpose of our life!
