Ye have done it unto me

“And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.”

Mosiah 2:17 says. What does that mean? He’s telling them this so they can be smart. When you help someone else, you are helping God. Matthew 25:40 also says that:

“Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have doneit unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

And Doctrine and Covenants 42:31:

“And inasmuch as ye impart of your substance unto the poor, ye will do it unto me”

But how does that work? Jesus suffered for all our sins. He felt all anger, sadness, fear, pain, everything that is bad. So, when we help someone in need, we are taking away a little of the suffering Jesus felt.
