The angel Moroni talked to Joseph Smith three times that night, and once again the next day. Why? I think it was because Joseph Smith needed to remember EVERYTHING Moroni told him, and if Moroni told Joseph only once, he wouldn’t have remembered it all. Moroni also had Joseph come back to the Hill Cumorah a few time to lean more. Why couldn’t he just tell him everything at the same time? I think it was a test. I think God wanted to see if Joseph would stay dedicated and come back every year. But I think it was also because if you get a lot of information at the same time, it is hard to remember it all. But why couldn’t Moroni tell Joseph everything multiple times, like he did on the first night? I think that is because that would take way too long, and because then there wouldn’t be the test.
