Singing

2 Nephi 22:2 reads, “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.” What does it mean that the Lord is Isaiah’s “song”? I think it means that we delight in him and he makes us sing for joy. The end of the chapter, verses 5 and 6 affirm that: “Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things; this is known in all the earth. Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee,” so I know I am right.

  • I like to look up the scripture references that are attached to the Hymns we sing. I like to sing praises. Do we “praise Him” each time we partake of the sacrament as the people in 3rd Nephi did? I have been thinking of this lately. Thank you for this great reminder.
